Our outfitter for this truly exceptional moose hunting adventure is located in remote mountain wilderness areas 3, 39, and 45 on the Great Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland. They operate over 15 remote camps which are accessible only by float plane which insures that you will be the only hunters in the area. There is no local hunting pressure. This, coupled with the fact that this area is the most densely populated (moose and caribou) unit on the island offers
our clients an extremely high success rate.
This area has been managed for years by our outfitter with a very limited number of animals harvested each year. Our clients have been taking quality bull moose each year and we manage to find a few in the 36” to 50” range.
These remote camps are located throughout the Long Range Mountains on top of the range in rolling hill country. The area has an ideal moose habitat with small streams and lakes, timbered valleys, and barren peaks which are ideal for glassing vast areas looking for your trophy bull.
The guides are all experienced woodsman and native Newfoundlanders that know the hunting area well and are experts at calling in that love-sick bull. They will take care of your trophy once it is on the ground by field dressing it, boning it out, transporting it back to camp in cheesecloth bags, and hanging it in our secure meat house to cool and be readied for the trip home.
All meals are home cooked by an experienced camp cook who will never let you leave the table hungry. Fresh baked bread, desserts, and delicious main courses are served each day. In the evening the hot showers will be a welcome end to your long day in the field. Also in these warm and dry rustic cabins are indoor washrooms, running water, a woodstove for heat, sleeping quarters for four to six hunters, and a satellite phone for emergencies.
This is truly a fantastic wilderness experience and one that you will remember for the rest of your life!
